I wish all the luck in the world to Twin Valley because after the Hurley game 2/3/04 they will need it. (LUCKY TO WIN THAT ONE!!!) Thanks to the play of all those who aren't trying to look good (its not television) or act as though they do nothing wrong (i.e. staring at your hands) we were able to win the game. Until someone stops trying to make a certain individual the star or stops a certain individual from trying to act like the star of the team - the team will not be trully successful. Let the actual stars shine and get what they deserve. I think its sad when players are left on the bench that care more about the team than a certain starter and are never given a chance. They can't make any more mistakes, miss any more shots, or get broken down on defense any more than this person. Its a shame the master minds of the team allow this to continue. Until it does LUCK is what our team needs to win - so GOOD LUCK Twin Valley. No matter how things are done I'm still behind you.

In one sense I agree with you TVSportsFan we need to be playing more like a team and we do have the talent to compete and beat everyone we play. And also bench players could be utilized more not only to help teach lessons but to strengthen the team.

But let me say I think the master minds (Coach Moore and his staff) are doing the best they can. I think Moore has turned our program around and to win back to back overtime games is an accomplishment. We are second in the BDD so let's sit back and let the games be played.

Hey N8TRBOY - I hope you aren't attacking my post. If you noticed I stood up for the coaches and what has been accomplished by the team.

Just because I may think we need to be playing more like a team because we do have the talent to compete and beat everyone we play. And because it is my opinion bench players can be utilized not only to help teach lessons but more importantly to strengthen the team doesn't call for you calling me childish.

Opinions are just that opinions. If a person believes in what they are doing or saying then the opinions of others shouldn't be taken personally.

Sorry if it came across that way. I am not attacking any post or any posters on this board. What I am trying to argue is that when people think that a Coach or his staff are deliberatley trying to hold back a kid it is hardly ever the truth. Coaches have reasons for doing things and sometimes those things are based on what they see at practice, or how certain situations apply in a game. For example if a team takes it's post player out then the coach shouldn't be attacked because he took out a guard and went with a bigger lineup to take advantage of the big guy being out. Sometimes people look at everything from a negative point of view and see every action of the coach as an action against their kid or a particular player more than the others. Any coach worth his salt is going to make decisions based on what will help him win the game, he will be right a few times and wrong several times, but he must do what HE THINKS IS RIGHT. Not what someone else thinks.

I know that the powers that be have only the best interest of the team in mind when they make these decisions. For the sake of peace I am through on this subject.

I do respect the coaches decision and I am certain Coach Moore knowes this of me. I know he is doing his level best plus 110% for the team and the program.

Let me try this again, something happend to my computer and stopped my last post mid sentence.

I do agree that lessons need to be learned and that from time to time people need to be taught and corrected. It's just a shame that the ADULTS need this correction more than the players.

I am aware that there are problems with certain players and their relationship isn't too close. The young men on the TV team know how to play through these differences and put the team first. For that I commend them.

To say that the "POWERS THAT BE" are causing the team to struggle because one player sits on the bench while another plays is somewhat childish. If you haven't noticed there are 4 other players on the floor as well. Your gripes and complaints have nothing to do with love for the team. But it does have everything to do with hatred for a player. Which is very childish! One of the major problems with TV athletics is parental it is not with the athletes at all. I can't speak for the coaches or the players but as an observer I have said for the past 3 years that the coaches graveyard will not improve unless someone comes in and stands their ground. This isn't little league, everyone doesn't get the same amount of minutes and the coach spends hours breaking down video and going over shot charts and stats. The coaches have reasons for doing what they do and they should never have to explain their decisions to anyone! Everyone does things differently call it luck if you want to but the Panthers have won 12 games this season. But then again, when adults are more concerned about points and minutes they are the ones who are setting the bad example.

I am not attacking either one of these posts or the folks who made them. I just feel that if the new school is ever going to succeed that parents and players need to understand the concept of TEAM and grow up. All around the area we witness succesfull programs, Council in hoops, Gate City in football, Grundy in wrestling, Powell Valley in track, and they all have a few things in common. The concept of team, the idea that the coach is the coach and not the parents, the support of the community and parents and a total sense of unselfishness and commitment to the purpose of the TEAM and not the individual. These schools also have something else in common,state championships!

I agree that some players need to learn lessons, but let the coach handle things his way, sit back as an adult and support the team and help bring an end to the problems at TVHS. Not trying to argue just trying to express my feelings about the situation.

I wonder how many times a Council or GC player ever went to the stat man after a game? Very Few, the team is the main focus on those teams, and they have state championships. I wonder how many parents verbally attacked or jumped on the coach because he just WON A GAME, without a certain player getting lots of playing time? Very few, I am sure that the win is what was most important, by the way did I mention that those schools have state titles?

Those schools you mentioned that had state titles, Gate City, Council, Grundy, and Powell Valley also had something on their state championship teams that Twin Valley doesn't have Division 1 and in a couple cases pro athletes.
